Participation of the Project
“Nikos Engonopoulos Archive: Digitization, Documentation and Dissemination”
in the Panteion University Research Day (8/10/2025)
The research project “Nikos Engonopoulos Archive: Digitization, Documentation and Dissemination” (MIS 5163923), implemented within the framework of the “Greece 2.0” Programme and funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.), participated in the Panteion University Research Day, presenting its achievements and ongoing activities.
During the presentation, the team highlighted:
the process of preserving, digitizing, and documenting the archive of the painter and poet Nikos Engonopoulos,
the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between the Humanities and Digital Sciences,
and the educational dimension of the project, through the active involvement of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The project was organized into three Work Packages (WP):
WP1 – Digitization and Management, focusing on the classification, documentation, and digitization of the archive.
WP2 – Scholarly Study, involving academic analysis and the identification of previously unknown works.
WP3 – Dissemination and Communication, dedicated to the creation of the project website, academic publications, and the preparation of the conference “Digital Archiving and Cultural Memory” (November 2025).
The presentation was accompanied by selected samples of the photographic and archival material, showcasing the project’s contribution to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage through contemporary digital methods.
