Work Package 3 – Dissemination and Communication Management of the Archive
Work Package 3 focuses on the dissemination and communication management of the Digital Archive of Nikos Engonopoulos, aiming to promote the project's results and highlight the artistic and cultural significance of the archive to both the general public and the academic community. During the reporting period, important steps were taken in this direction, including the project's first public presentation.
On May 5, 2025, the project’s first public event was successfully held at Panteion University. The event, titled "Digital Archiving as a Means of Preservation, Inspiration and Dissemination of Cultural Legacy: The Archive of Nikos Engonopoulos," brought together a large number of participants from academic and artistic fields, representatives of cultural institutions, and interested members of the public. The methodology and preliminary results of the project were presented, selected archival materials were showcased, and the broader value of digitization for cultural preservation and historical research was discussed.
At the same time, preparations are underway for a major two-day conference scheduled for November 28–29, 2025. The program will include six thematic sessions, roundtable discussions, artistic performances, screenings, an archival exhibition, and additional public events that will integrate scholarly reflection with cultural experience. Communication has already begun with potential speakers, artists, and curators to ensure the academic breadth and diversity of the event.
Particular emphasis is placed on the project’s digital presence. The project website is under development and will serve as a central hub for information, access to digitized material, and dissemination of academic and cultural content. In parallel, a digital database is being created to allow structured and user-friendly access to the archive's content, tailored to researchers and the general public alike.
Dissemination activities also include academic publications currently in preparation, a planned article for the newsletter of the Hellenic Archival Society, as well as the use of radio and social media platforms to communicate the project’s aims and results.
The dissemination strategy is designed to ensure the long-term impact and visibility of the archive in both public and academic spheres. The Archive of Nikos Engonopoulos is no longer confined to the framework of a private collection; it is being transformed into a dynamic cultural resource, open to educational, artistic, and civic engagement.
The implementation of Work Package 3 thus far demonstrates consistency with the project timeline and a clear strategic focus. The successful execution of the first public event marked a key milestone, confirming the relevance and resonance of the dissemination actions and laying a strong foundation for the upcoming, expanded phase of outreach and public engagement.
